Awarded SILVER in the RASQ Wine Show & Mediterranean Challenge 2017.
A powerful combination of two ancient grape varieties cultivated since the 12th century. Sagrantino, a grape from Umbria which was widely regarded as a top quality wine during the Renaissance. Carmenere, once used in all of the great Bordeaux wines, was thought to be extinct for over a century. This is a celebration of the history of wine making. The bouquet is one of dark, brooding red fruits with hints of plum, cinnamon and pepper. With raspberry, pomegranate, red capsicum and cloves, with defined tannins and a warm earthy spice finish.
Pairs well with black truffle risotto or try with a Chinese 5 spice duck breast.
